Luke 8:26-38
Jesus’ Directive to Legions:
Return home and tell how much God has done for you. What would He say?
He Set Me Free
He Gave My Life Back
He Brought Order/Direction to My Life
He Told Me to Tell You About Him.
Our Directive is the Same!
Step 1: Accept the barriers to telling others how much God has done for me.
What am I so afraid of?
Haven’t Accepted the Good News, Acceptance, Rejection, Insecurity,
Don’t know how, Don’t want to, Laziness,
Waiting until we are ready, Unchanged Heart, Lack of Belief
Step 2: Accept heaven’s motivation to tell others how much God has done for me.
Luke 15:7 NLT…heaven will be happier [partying and celebrating] over one lost sinner who returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven't strayed away!
Luke 15:10 NLT 10In the same way, there is joy [beyond our scope] in the presence of God's angels when even one sinner repents."
Step 3: Accept our personal responsibility to live our life telling others what God has done for me.
1 John 5:10 NIV 10Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart.
Acts 20:24 MSG What matters most to me is to finish what God started: the job the Master Jesus gave me of letting everyone I meet know all about this incredibly extravagant generosity of God.
What do we have to tell?
We Have This to Say - He Set Me Free
2 Timothy 4:2 NIV and NLT 2Preach [proclaim] the Word; be prepared [be persistent] in season and out of season [whether the time is favorable or not]; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction.
- What was my life like before I met Jesus?
- How did I come to realize that I needed Jesus?
- How did I or have I committed my life to Jesus?
- What is the difference Jesus has made in my life?
We Have This to Say - He Gave My Life Back
- Jesus met me right where I was.
- Jesus stepped into my world with all of my stuff.
- Jesus helped me get to where He knows I need to be.
- Jesus wants me to become like Him.
We Have This to Say - He Brought Order and Direction to My Life
Spiritual, Eternal, Relational
Purpose, Emotional, Thoughts
We Have This to Say - He Told me to tell you about Him.
Build Relationships
Ask questions and hear what is being said.
Become comfortable telling others about Him
Ask them if they would like to have relationship with Jesus Christ?
Colossians 2:6-7
Receive Him
Obedient to Him
(Baptism, Serve and Tell)
