We believe that there is only one true God who loves us and wants deeply to have relationship with us. Genesis 1:1-31;Deut. 6:4;Mal. 2:10;Mark 12:29-32; Hebrews 11:1-3
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God, Savior of our lives, and is the Head of the Church. Ephesians 1:15-23, 4:15, 5:22-24; Colossians 1:18-29 Matthew 1:18-25, 27: 57-66 Mark 1:9-13; Luke 9:28-36, 24:1-12; John 1:1-18; John 1-3; Philippians 2:1-11; Hebrews 7-8; Ephesians 1:15-23, 4:15, 5:22-24; Colossians 1:18-29
We believe that the Holy Spirit works in and is active in leading our lives. We believe that the work of the Holy Spirit is as real and powerful today as in the Acts Church. John 14;16-17; Acts 1:8, 2:1-4; Romans 12:1-8, 15:8-9; 1 Corinthians 12, 14:12; Ephesians 4:11-13, 5: 18-20, 6:10-20; 1 John 3:8
We believe that the Bible is God's Word to us, is without error, is relevant and is our manual for living. Psalm 119; 2 Timothy 3:10-17; 2 Peter 1:12-21; Romans 5:15; Ephesians 4:3, 13; 1 Timothy 4:16; 2 Timothy 3:16-18; Titus 2:1
We believe the church should be irresistible and that it functions best built upon looking to the Word, listening to the Holy Spirit and leaning into Community. We believe every believer has a responsibility to be actively involved in their local church and to be an active influence in their local community. Acts 2, Acts 6
We believe the church is to be led by leaders, who are led and driven by the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. We believe God has anointed the Leadership Council of Crosswinds with a God-given vision for a healthy church body. We believe that God has called and empowered this leadership team to lead the body towards that vision. This vision includes that the church is to be led by a plurality of leaders, who are led and driven by the Word of God, the Holy Spirit and by relationship. This is not a congregationally led body. We believe this leadership team carries the responsibility to relationally lead, shepherd and shape this body ultimately answerable to God for their care of His congregation.
We believe that salvation is through the grace of God, and must be personally accepted. Matthew 5:44, 19:19, 22:34-40; John 3:16, 17:1-7; Romans 3:21-26, 5:6-8, 6:22, 8:28-39, 10:1-15, 12:2-3; Galatians 5:22; Ephesians 2:8-9; Philippians 2:13; James 2:14-26
We accept an indivdual's confession of faith in Jesus Christ, and their mode of baptism, if done so before coming to Crosswinds. We practice baptism by immersion, which we believe Jesus modeled. Matthew 3:6-16; Mark 16:16-18; Luke 3:21; Acts 2:38, 22:16; Romans 6:3-10, 10:9; Ephesians 4:5; Galatians 3: 26-29; Colossians 2:12
We believe that we are to live our lives in obedience to God; and it is every believer's responsibility to grow in maturing relationships with God and others. We believe that individuals mature best through relationships, therefore we are committed to being a church of small "community" groups. Colossians 2:6-7
We believe worship must be God focused, vibrant and relevant Psalms, Acts 2. We observe communion and the receiving of tithes and offerings weekly (consistently) as a time of worship, praise and remembrance. Luke 22:14-23, Acts 2:38-47; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30
We believe men and women can serve at any or all levels or roles within this church body, to which God has called them. We accept our mandate to recognize and empower each believer based on spiritual gift, calling, and maturity, without bias or restriction in regards to race, age, gender, or socio-economic status. Ephesians 1:15-23, 4:11-15, 5:22-24; Colossians 1:18-2; 9 Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12; 14:12; 1 Peter 4:10-11; Genesis 1:26-28; 1 Corinthians 11:9-12; Galatians 3:28; 1 Peter 2:5, 9-10; Revelation 1:6, 5:10; Judges 2:15-23 and chapters 4-5 (esp. 4:1-5, 5:15, 5:19-23, 5:31); Acts 9:36, 16:13-15, 16:40, 17:11-12, 17:33-34, 18:2-3, 18:24-26, 21:8-9; Romans 16:1-7, 12, 15; 1Timothy 2, Titus 1; Galatians 5:13-14
We believe that every person has a responsibility to steward their life (relationships, time, finances, spiritual gifts, and personal resources) and to make their life fully available to God as He leads and expects.
